Although this time it won't be courtesy of the photogs. Britney has signed to appear in an episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Since she's still under the conservatorship of her father, she needed (and got) permission from Daddy to take the gig.

The biz is already buzzing for Heath
The Dark Knight isn't out for another 4 months yet, but Hollywood types are already buzzing about Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker. Director Christopher Nolan calls Heath's work, "stunning". Some people are even suggesting that he may be in line for a posthumous Oscar nod.

* Last night at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, Justin Timberlake (who was inducting Madonna) took a not so veiled shot at his ex, Britney Spears, "The world has always been full of Madonna wannabes. I might have even dated a couple". Classy.
* A new Yankee will take the field with the team when they play a spring training game against the Pirates on Thursday. The team signed comedian Billy Crystal to a one day contract. Knowing the Yankees, it's probably worth around $12 million.
* To update Friday's story about Jerry Seinfeld's alleged return to the sitcom world, his publicist has called the story, "completely false".
